Biography


Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo on July 10, 1985, is one of Africa’s most successful and influential rappers. He was born in Tema, Ghana, and is widely recognized for his fast-paced rap style and use of the Twi language.

Sarkodie gained mainstream attention with his hit song “Baby” in 2009, featuring Mugeez. Since then, he has released numerous hit songs and award-winning albums, making him a dominant force in African hip-hop.

Over the years, he has won multiple awards, including Best International Flow at the BET Hip Hop Awards. His music often reflects themes of success, hustle, and real-life experiences, which resonate strongly with fans.
