Nirvana to Receive 2026 MTV VMA Video Vanguard Award Nirvana will receive the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards Video Vanguard Award on September 27. The honour recognizes the band’s major influence on music videos and popular culture. Nirvana previously won five VMAs between 1992 and 1994.
