Biography

Victony is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper who rose to prominence through his distinctive blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and hip hop. He began his music career in 2017 by releasing a mixtape titled The Outlaw King on SoundCloud before transitioning from rap to melodic Afrobeats.

His breakthrough came in 2021 with “Holy Father”, a collaboration with Mayorkun that topped streaming charts in Nigeria. In 2022, he achieved international success with “Soweto”, which became one of Africa’s biggest songs and gained even more popularity after a remix featuring Rema and Don Toliver.

In April 2021, Victony survived a serious car accident that claimed the life of one of his friends and left him recovering through multiple surgeries. He later returned to performing and has spoken openly about how the experience shaped his music and outlook on life.

In 2024, he released his debut studio album Stubborn, featuring collaborations with Asake, SAINt JHN, Shallipopi, Teezo Touchdown, and others.
