Kofi Kinaata is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter, rapper and highlife musician best known for blending Fante rap, storytelling and socially conscious songwriting. Widely regarded as one of Ghana’s finest lyricists, he has earned repeated recognition for his songwriting and has built a reputation for music that combines entertainment with life lessons.

Musical style

Kofi Kinaata, born Martin King Arthur, hails from Effiakuma in the Western Region of Ghana. His music draws from highlife, hiplife and Afrobeats, with lyrics rich in Fante proverbs, humour and everyday experiences. Rather than relying on flashy wordplay alone, many of his songs focus on themes such as perseverance, relationships, gratitude and social responsibility.

His rise began after finishing as the first runner-up in the Melody FM Kasahari rap competition before joining High Grade Family, where his career gained national attention.
